Roberto de la Guía

Born in Albacete, Spain, in 1995, Roberto de la Guía has been Principal Trombonist of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin since 2023, one of Germany’s leading symphony orchestras.

He is a prizewinner of major international competitions, including First Prize at the Jeju International Brass Competition (2025), First Prize at the Michel Becquet International Trombone Competition in Luxembourg (2023), Third Prize at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich (2022), Third Prize at the Concorso Internazionale “Città di Porcia” (2023), as well as awards at the Aeolus International Competition (2023) and the IPV International Trombone Competition (2020).

He studied at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with Fabrice Millischer, completing his Master’s degree in 2023, receiving the Helene Rosenberg Foundation Award.

He previously served as Principal Trombonist of the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra (2022–2023) and has appeared as guest principal trombonist with orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, among others.

As a soloist, he has performed with ensembles including the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra, Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine, Musique Militaire Grand-Ducale du Luxembourg, Münchener Kammerorchester, Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Albacete, and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Orchestra, among others.

He appears regularly as a soloist and chamber musician at international festivals and projects across Europe, and is a member of the Millischer Trombone Quartet, a chamber music ensemble led by Fabrice Millischer.
